When thoughts and behaviors interfere with everyday living, this therapeutic technique focuses on changing the negative thought patterns and behaviors so that a person can adapt more easily to everyday tasks by thinking and behaving in a more positive, healthy manner, thereby reducing stress.





Play Therapy utilizes toys, sand, children’s books, doll houses, hand and finger puppets, drawing, and games to help a child work through their stressors and traumas in an age-appropriate manner.





EMDR is a technique developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro to help people heal from trauma.  When a traumatic event occurs (for example, a car accident, abuse, victimization, a hurricane, tornado, or other type of trauma), the brain locks that incident in, keeping all of the senses from that time inside. EMDR helps both the right and left sides of the brain (thinking and feeling parts) work together to unlock the trauma, helping the person affected by the trauma to work through the incident, become desensitized to it, and reprocess it in a more positive way.





Reiki – pronounced (ray-key), this is translated as Universal Life Force Energy.  This is not hands-on massage.  The person remains fully clothed, except for shoes, and energy shared by the person and practitioner work together to balance the body and mind energies.  It is particularly helpful for those feeling stressed, tired, or in pain, due to chronic ailments.  It provides a feeling of very deep relaxation, leaving one feeling very relaxed.
